Vol has been added to your Cart. This is a type 1 ferrite tape. With that in mind, the audio is acceptable. I think perhaps the master was over driven a tad as the bass tends to distort. The music on Awesome Mix Vol 1 is fantastic. It just is. "I Fooled Around (and Fell In Love)"; "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)", and "Cherry Bomb" are all songs that have stood the test of time.

Like his previous Mix Tape release, the albums is compilation of freestyles and previously released songs mixed together by Funkmaster Flex. The Mix Tape, Vol. II was a success, peaking at 19 on the Billboard 200, an 89-spot increase from his previous album, and No. 2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, held from the top spot by Erykah Badu's Baduizm

One of the odder stories on here is Discover America, whose underrated Psychology album in 2005 was an effective slab or melancholic, understated and indie rock. His contributions here, "Miles of Grey" and "How It Started," almost seem molded to better fit the vibes on P Is for Panda, with more of a noticeable, Jeff Buckley-esque twang to his voice than usual. How It Started" is admittedly more acoustic and dreamy, however, perhaps like Chris Staples' recordings under his proper name.
