Principato drags out his syllables and hints at quiet ecstasy. If you dropped this record onto another continent and stripped out the names, someone might think it was Satie pieces rearranged for percussion.

Liquid Liquid is the debut EP by Liquid Liquid. It was released in 1981, through the record label 99. "New Walk", "Lub Dupe" and "Bell Head" were recorded live at Hurrahs in New York City on February 13, 1981 and were produced by Ed Bahlman. The other two tracks were recorded at Man Made Studios, and were produced by Liquid Liquid themselves along with Bahlman and Bruce Tovsky on the final track, "Rubbermiro". Trouser Press classified the EP as "impressive".

Liquid Liquid is an American no wave and dance-punk group, originally active from 1980 to 1983. They are best known for their track "Cavern," which was covered by the Sugar Hill Records house band as the backing track for Melle Mel's old school rap classic "White Lines (Don't Do It. The group released a series of extended plays, including the acclaimed 1983 12" EP Optimo. In 2008, the band reformed, playing in various venues around the globe.
