JEFF the Brotherhood is an American two-piece rock band consisting of brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall, hailing from Nashville, Tennessee. Their style has been described by music writers as containing elements of psychedelic rock, garage rock, punk and pop. They have released five original LPs on the label Infinity Cat, one live album on Third Man Records, and assorted singles and splits with noted artists such as Ty Segall, Best Coast, and Screaming Females.

JEFF The Brotherhood is Jake Orrall and Jamin Orrall, two brothers that play drums and guitar. They grew up in Tennessee making music and trying to have a good time. Since their inception they have been playing anywhere from house parties to rooftops, backyards, bars and art galleries and releasing their own records, tapes, comic books and home made videos.

JEFF the Brotherhood are a band that need no introduction. For the past 15 years, the Nashville brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall have put out some of the best garage rock you’ll ever hear. They’ve collaborated with everyone from Best Coast to Screaming Females-and today we have the god damn pleasure of premiering their new record, Zone. It’s a surfy, stoner punk rock album that should honestly come with a skateboard. Of Zone, Jake says: I don’t think there is anything I can say about this album before you listen that will make you enjoy it more-all I can do is give you some context. Not counting our ‘Global Chakra Rhythms’ project, it had been a few years since we made an album where there was no incentive or reason to push it stylistically in any one direction. Dine Alone made sure we got the studio we wanted, the time we needed, and, most importantly, our friend Colin Dupuis to be a part of it.

Five years, to be precise, a half-decade marked by a failed sojourn at a major label and the palette-cleansing Global Chakra Rhythms, so Zone could also be seen as the record where JEFF the Brotherhood get back to their heavy indie roots. That's somewhat true. It's raw and cacophonic, the work of a band reveling in all the nasty noise they can conjure. These flights of feedback can mean that a good portion of Zone floats by on pure texture.
