It's a completely average Vulfpeck release, meaning I find it rather boring personally. Vulfpeck continues to deliver, almost comically, despite being disrespectfully underrated year over year. One of the most uniquely out-there bands carving space so specific they'll wind up standing alone by default. You either live in awe of Vulfpeck or you haven't listened close enough. Talk about Vulfpeck - Hill Climber

Brick my own
This is that same release as the black vinyl listed on the main Hill climber release. This one should be deleted.
Dilkree
It's different. There are two black vinyl releases. This is the second release.
MarF
This is actually a different release, although the matrix info is the same for all of the versions. It's this release: https://qrates.com/projects/17292-vulfpeck-hill-climber-180g , which has a different catalog number and a different message on the back of the sleeve.
Kirinaya
This is just the white second pressing in the first pressing jacket. Wouldn't call this a mispress at all.
tref
... and regarding to what actually happened (the first "Black Version" got Mispressed and was replaced by the already pressed white Version), the term "mispress" comes closest to that".
Na
This release has a different label (black with white Vulf logo) than the white second pressing (that one has the hill climber artwork on a white label).
salivan
Well I can't speak for the first pressing of these that was apparently messed up, but this release sound top notch. Qrates does a really nice job of QC on their releases in my experience, love buying from them. I wish that everyone took the kind of care that they do when putting out a release.
Kare
Agreed. This is a huge step up from prior Vulf releases in terms of mixing/mastering/pressing quality. Both this version and the black first pressing sound amazing.
Laitchai
Well, I like Qrates too, but they have a terrible packing! It's a miracle the vinyl survives the trip, with (so far) only minor damage. ;)
Akir
I need to have this clarified! Is this pressing the one from Qrates.com, running from Sep 22 2018 ~ Oct 20 2018?Link to Qrates: https://qrates.com/projects/17026-vulfpeck-hill-climber-180g-white
Coirad
Thanks mate, I got a little confused about the talk about the missprint version, and the fact that there has been added releases with only a front cover image, and no other identifiers. I just hate that ;)
Zicelik
Yes. It is that pressing. The one that ran from Sep 13-Sep 22 2018 was supposed to be the first pressing in black.

Posting this here as well as in the responses to Tapir-Records' comment, so more folks see it and we can hopefully clear this up:From all the info I've managed to find direct from the band on this, it appears that the 1st pressing (black vinyl with jacket that reads "FIRST PRESSING* *not to be played" on the back) had a production error, so they had to repress it. QZ Media (the pressing plant handling this pressing) was also pressing the 2nd pressing (white vinyl with jacket that reads "Limited Edish White Vinyl **Nailed it**" on the back) at the same time. The white "second" pressing did not have any errors, and was ready to ship, so they shipped them out first.Apparently, the pressing error on the first batch was that GZ Media actually started pressing them on white vinyl rather than black... this response from Vulfpeck to a tweet sheds a bit of light on the confusion:"the pressing error was that GZ Media (the record plant) made white versions of the first pressing. i was unaware that these shipped. the jacket of the white pressing will not be labeled as a first pressing." - https://twitter.com/kyleasilver/status/1087929780245356545So, once we get some Matrix/Runout info added to the white and black release pages that might help clear up what's transpired. If you've got white vinyl in a First Pressing sleeve, you might have a relatively rare copy... if the matrix/runout between white and black was different, and you have white vinyl with black matrix/runouts :P
Iaiastta
Isn't the black vinyl edition the first pressing? Mine (white) says "LIMITED EDISH WHITE VINY" on the back.Checked Qrates, there they sold the black vinyl edition as first.
Keel
"If you've got white vinyl in a First Pressing sleeve, you might have a relatively rare copy" ... that´s so nice to hear !!!Further on, i just asked for clarification directly at QRates ... maybe we can get a direct statement!

@ haroldstruik: Please provide us with proove (article, Label statement, etc.) of this statement (would bring us a step closer to the "why" and "what"). Don´t get me wrong, not that i doubt you (!!!), but this Database is based on evidence, not hearsay!
Mr.Champions
Well, all i can do is take pictures of the Version i have at hand (plus: provide matrix runout etc.) and make the Submission as transparent as it gets! I don´t know what happened there, but above i depicted the release i have here!!
Roram
yes, but the black pressing failed so i guess they are shipping/pressing the white version first
