The Beatles - Revolver 1966 Full Album.

The latest Beatles album 'Revolver' certainly has new sounds and new ideas, and should cause plenty of argument among fans as to whether it is as good as or better than previous efforts. One thing seems certain to me - you'll soon all be singing about a 'Yellow Submarine'. This has been chosen as one 'A' side to be released as a 45 next week, along with the ballad 'Eleanor Rigby'

Released August 5, 1966. The album featured a bigger Indian influence than Rubber Soul, particularly on Love You To, one of three songs Harrison contributed to the record- his personal best. It also featured backwards vocals and tape loops on songs such as She Said She Said and Tomorrow Never Knows, and some of the Beatles' most innovative instrumentation on Eleanor Rigby and For No One. The central theme of the album is death, both literal and metaphorical.

Revolver pioneered the use of one of the Beatles’ secret sonic weapons. If there’s a key ingredient in Revolver’s sonic stew, it’s a technique the Beatles and George Martin pioneered called Artificial Double Tracking: ADT, for those in the know. In his 1970s interviews with Jann Wenner, Lennon asks, Can you tell me if that white album with the drawing by Klaus Voormann on it, was that before Rubber Soul or after? – revealing that the name of the Beatles’ masterpiece had slipped his mind, but Voormann’s artwork had not. We liked the way there were little things coming out of people’s ears, and how he’d collaged things on a small scale while the drawings were on a big scale, McCartney said. He also knew us well enough to capture us rather beautifully in the drawings.

The biggest miracle of Revolver may be that the Beatles covered so much new stylistic ground and executed it perfectly on one record, or it may be that all of it holds together perfectly. Either way, its daring sonic adventures and consistently stunning songcraft set the standard for what pop/rock could achieve. Even after Sgt. Pepper, Revolver stands as the ultimate modern pop album and it's still as emulated as it was upon its original release.

The Beatles’ Revolver was released on 5 August 1966. As the album turns 50,Greg Kot argues that it is the Fab Four’s crowning achievement. The best Beatles album? The rock historians often point to Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band as the moment, in 1967, when rock magically grew up and became a legitimate art form, at least as it was perceived by the mainstream media. Many fans love the sprawl and variety of the self-titled 1968 double album, popularly known as The White Album.

Revolver is a 1966 album by British rock band The Beatles. It was their 7th album. Its front cover is a collage, designed by Klaus Voormann, an artist friend of the Beatles from Germany. The album was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, England. While most of the Beatles's records were made in Studio Two, it was being used for another project, so much of Revolver was made in Studio Three, which was much smaller and meant for use by soloists
