The sonic assault of Sweet Cobra has been described by critics as everything from hypnotic, riff-driven mayhem to sludgy groove with hardcore intensity. Still, that doesn’t do their unmistakably original sound justice. When Jason Gagovski (Suicide Note) and Botchy Vasquez (The Killer, and Challenger) formed Sweet Cobra in 2002, each brought a penchant for ‘70s inspired groove rock and the ghosts of their hardcore pasts.

Love is the eponymous debut album by the Los Angeles-based rock band Love, and was released in March 1966 on Elektra Records. Arthur Lee, who was originally from Memphis, Tennessee, but had lived in Los Angeles since he was five, had been recording since 1963 with his bands, the LAG's and Lee's American Four. He had written and also produced the single "My Diary" for Rosa Lee Brooks in 1964 which featured Jimi Hendrix on guitar.

In a 19-week span, it peaked at No. 20, although it turned out to be his penultimate top 20 album chart appearance, followed early the next year by Rick Nelson Sings ‘For You’. After that, it would be six years before he made the album countdown again. By then, he had fearlessly embraced a country rock style that was in quite some contrast to his earlier pop confections.
