Fight for the Rock is the third full-length album by the American heavy metal band Savatage. It is their first album with new bass player Johnny Lee Middleton, who has since become the only member to appear on each subsequent Savatage album since. Released in 1986, it is largely regarded as the band's worst release by both fans and band members, with the band referring to it as "Fight for the Nightmare". Jon Oliva said in October 1994, "I've never really been fond of that album.

Fight For The Rock is Savatage's third album. Their first two albums are small classics in the early to mid 80's heavy metal scene, and I must imagine that this was a big disappointment when it was released in 1986. All of intensity and power in Savatage's music isn't present on this album, and instead we have a formulaic pop metal album

Fight For The Rock" is a great and highly memorable album. Hyde" and "Red Light Paradise" are flawless Savatage classics. This album has thick and atmospheric production, lush keyboards, a beautiful guitar tone, not to mention that Jon perfects his voice here. I highly recommend this. One person found this helpful.
