South of Reality is the second studio album by The Claypool Lennon Delirium consisting of American ts Sean Lennon and Primus' Les Claypool, released on February 22, 2019. The album was preceded by the lead single and music video for "Blood and Rockets," followed by two successive prerelease tracks; "Easily Charmed by Fools" in late 2018, and "Amethyst Realm" in early 2019.
Lennon and Claypool co-produced South of Reality themselves, with the Primus frontman engineering and mixing at his own Rancho Relaxo studio in Sonoma County, California. They wrote and recorded the album over roughly two months, prompted by what Claypool describes as the desire to sit in a room and make space sounds again. Basically it was the same setup in the same place, the bassist says of their process. South of Reality Q&A.
The Claypool Lennon Delirium, featuring Primus frontman Les Claypool and Sean Lennon, announced that their second album, titled South of Reality, will be released on Feb. 22, 2019. The LP follows 2016's debut, Monolith of Phobos, and last year’s covers EP, Lime and Limpid Green. The track listing and first dates of a supporting tour can be seen below, with further shows to be announced soon.
South Of Reality is the kind of album that wears its own strangeness as a badge of honour. The Claypool Lennon Delirium is anchored by Les Claypool, bandleader with Primus, and anyone familiar with that band’s wonderfully weird textural music will at least be in the ballpark when it comes to this project. Here joined by Sean Lennon (son of Beatle John), at times such as on the soaring Boriska, a Merseybeat melody floats throughout.

The Claypool Lennon Delirium isn’t just some side project; it’s a self-contained world. The Bad: Most of the lyrics are barbs aimed at modern society, but many of these miss the mark.
