The Hip Hop producer Diamond D debuted in 1992 with his album Stunts, Blunts and Hip Hop. It became an underground masterpiece with the vibe of the 90's studio ambience. With experiences of his later partners Big L and Fat Joe he created his New York sound. A huge part of the songs is recorded with the help of his crew the Psychotic Neurotics. The beats of the song "Best Kept Secret" sets the tone for the massive rhyming of Diamond D. The reason that everything sounds just as it should be is the fantastic production of the songs.

Overall, "Stunts Blunts & Hip Hop" is a great debut from Diamond . but it is not without its flaws. The first of which is Diamond . s rapping, which isn't bad but pales in comparison to his production skills. Also, the album runs on a bit long at 67 minutes with a few songs that could have been left on the cutting room floor. His jazzy type production also flowed all throughout the album as it shows on "Best Kept Secret" and "Check One Two"

Album Stunts, Blunts, & Hip-Hop. Stunts, Blunts & Hip Hop Lyrics. Stunts are a man's best friend Ask any man, he'll say with a grin Young or old or boys or men Forty ounce or a glass of gin Sitting in a club carrying a pen Fronting with a girl every now and then Scheming on a way to hit the skins Stunts are a man's best friend In. the subway or riding in a Benz Whether four eyes or contact lens Sipping Moet or drinking Heineken Some like dark, some like light-skinned Some have one, and some have ten Some still are and some have been I'll play the rooster,.

A flawless album: top notch production from Showbiz (and Diamond D) and guest appearances from Lord Finesse and Big L (among others) – this may just be the best DITC album in a series of excellent albums. Amazingly consistent and entertaining throughout. The album flew well under the mainstream radar but was quickly recognized as a classic by true heads. Positive K is a NYC Hip Hop veteran, loosely associated with MC Lyte and the Audio Two. Not counting the aforementioned hit single, this album is strictly NY boom bap Hip Hop and Positive K shows he really has the skills to pay the bills. This is a dope album that should not be forgotten. Top tracks: I Got A Man How The F Would You Know Shakin’ One 2 The Head.

Hip-hop heads waiting to hear more from him were rewarded with a veritable wealth of treasures when Stunts, Blunts & Hip-Hop, Diamond D's debut album, was released the following year. The album instantly became - and remains - something of an underground masterpiece. Stunts is a hugely sprawling, amorphous thing. Nearly 70 minutes would generally seem far too long for a hip-hop album to sustain any degree of good taste, especially one that is mostly song-based and keeps the de rigueur between-song skits to a minimum

Stunts, Blunts & Hip Hop is the debut album from hip hop producer-emcee Diamond D, released on September 22, 1992. The album features some of the earliest appearances from Diamond's later . partners Big L and Fat Joe, as well as his crew the Psychotic Neurotics. Although Diamond D handles the majority of the album's production, other popular beat makers such as Large Professor, Q-Tip, Jazzy Jay, Showbiz and The 45 King co-produce on several tracks.

Talk about Diamond And The Psychotic Neurotics - Stunts, Blunts, & Hip Hop

Contancia
As already mentioned, the promo 2LP is missing the classic tracks 'I Went For Mine' an 'Feel The Vibe' along with ' Red Light Green Light' and a couple of skits. However, a small bonus for fans of the track 'A Day In The Life' is that it's a slightly longer version on the 2LP than the CD & cassette. The version here ends with a few extra seconds of instrumental before fading out, unlike other formats where it ends abruptly by the 'Last Car on the 2 Train' skit cutting in.

SUPER BRILLIANT RARE CLASSIC ALBUM (Which was even super hard to get in 1992! No joke!) The ORIGINAL has the following inscriptions in the run-out grooves. Run-out grooves reads as follows: Side A: 314-517-239-1DJ-AS-SPI DMM (additional letters SPI-I are written directly under DJ-AS) Side B: 314-517-239-1-DJ BS-DMM SP2xI-I Side C: 314-517-240-1-DJAS DMM SPL-I Side D: 314-517-23940-DJ BS 240-1-DJ-BS-SP-DMM SPI-1 (on side D the numbers 239 looks like they are crossed out). This is surely one of the best Hip-Hop Albums EVER!! Mad props go out to Diamond for this classic project!

"I Went for Mine" which is on my cassette copy (ha ha still got it!) of the album is surely one of the tightest beats ever created. I remember bopping my head walking down the street listening to this, such a classic piece of hip hop. Busta Rhymes resurrected the groove of this for "New York Shit" which is decent but Diamond still kills it.

This is simply one of the best Hip Hop LP´s from the golden age.I remember comming home from the record store, light a splif and put the record on, it completely blew me away. Somehow most of the old DITC stuff is totally classic material that is still more relevant / timeless than other production of that era. No gimmick's here. This is raw, straight to the point hip hop with funky sampling and dope raps that will put you into the zone. One more thing, in 1992, record companies were ready to switch from Vinyl to CD's so this LP came out, only as a promo double LP and was so limited, that it was nearly impossible to obtain it, even in 1992! Very quickly white Label Bootlegs were pressed from the CD Version. To be sure you are holding an original copy in your hands, you need to verify that your double LP has a real sticker and not a photocopied one.
