Dublin Street Songs became Frank Harte's first LP recording in 1967, having been recorded in two days earlier that year by Bill Leader in the UK at the same time as the tracks that were to become Through Dublin City, which was issued on the Topic label in 1973. The CD is largely made up of traditional Irish songs, though there are some exceptions such as "Henry My Son", which is listed as a "European Ballad". With a genuine rendition, lyrics and notes on the background, this is the best introduction you will find to the songs our fathers knew - as they knew.

These are rhymes, songs games, myself and friends sang and played while growing up in Ballyfermot we used them. only remembered this one this morning. my mother loved to sing this to us as children then her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Everywhere i go i bring my poe and my little bit of tissue paper and when im done i wipe my bum with my little bit of tissue paper. with thanks to my my ma Marcella Fields.
