Mich Gerber (born Michael Gerber in 1957) is a Swiss bassist and composer who lives in Bern, Switzerland. With his double-bass he uses a live sampling technique to create layers of music, weaving the whole into a rich rhythmic and melodic soundscape. This way, he extends the complete acoustic range of his instrument.

Mich Gerber is a solo acoustic 'bass orchestra'. He creates layers of music (live looping), weaving the whole into a rich rhythmic and melodic soundscape. Mich Gerber has a very distinct way of playing the double bass by plucking, bowing and using the instruments body as a percussive tool. Even though his work has contemporary feel, he explores ancient and world music to achieve his unique sound.
