Psychosis is the fourth studio album by American heavy metal band Cavalera Conspiracy. Released on November 17, 2017, it was released through Napalm Records. Insane and Spectral War have both been released as singles from the album. The album was produced by Arthur Rizk, who also performed bass and synth on the record. All songs written by Max Cavalera, Igor Cavalera and Marc Rizzo. Max Cavalera – vocals, rhythm guitar. Igor Cavalera – drums, percussion. Marc Rizzo – lead guitar.
Psychosis is an extremely streamlined album, clocking in at just 41 minutes, which is actually a bit longer than their last couple of releases. They've pared off nearly every inch of fat and filler (except for the last couple minutes of the album), leaving straightforward and focused slabs of grade A metal. On the production side, the band worked with Arthur Rizk this time around. While not a household name (yet), he has helmed some excellent albums from groups such as Power Trip, Code Orange and Inquisition . Filed Under: Cavalera Conspiracy.
The album features brutal shredding on the track "Spectral War" then progresses to super-fast blastbeats in "Judas Pariah" that lead into the stomping beast called "Crom". A hail of Black and Death Metal-arsenal that disturb your hearing in so many ways! Just merciless.
CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, the band led by brothers and founding SEPULTURA members Max (also of SOULFLY) and Igor Cavalera, will release its fourth album, "Psychosis", on November 17 via Napalm Records. The disc, which was produced by longtime friend Arthur Rizk, was recorded primarily at a studio in Phoenix, Arizona. We have a song called 'Insane' - it's about the state of the world, with Donald Trump and the bombings in England and France. And then, of course, there's an instrumental called 'Psychosis', which is the name of the album, which I think is cool, because I think it also reflects the state of mankind right now, the state of the world right now. It's pretty much psycho - we're living in a psycho age, with madness everywhere we go.
Cavalera Conspiracy is an American heavy metal band founded by Brazilian brothers Max (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Igor Cavalera (drums), currently performing along with American musicians Marc Rizzo (lead guitar) and Tony Campos (bass). The band originally formed in 2007 as Inflikted but changed its name for legal reasons. The group's creation marked the end of a 10-year feud between the Cavalera brothers who founded Sepultura in the early 1980s. Speaking to Metal Wani's Jake Patton, Max stated about the follow-up to 2014's "Pandemonium": "The album right now is finished. It was produced by Arthur Rizk, our friend and a great producer - an upcoming, underground producer
For sheer pre-Roots goodness, Cavalera Conspiracy’s fourth offering, Psychosis, blows Inflikted out of the water. Superficial though it may seem, the fact that Psychosis‘ title isn’t arbitrarily misspelled kinda tells you where it has the edge over its eldest sibling (C&C Music Factory have released two other fine but ultimately forgettable records, Blunt Force Trauma and Pandemonium). The further away The Brothers Cavalera get from nu-metal, the better their material gets. And there is very little nu-metal to be found here. Cavalera Conspiracy’s Psychosis comes out November 17 on Napalm Records. Tags: Andreas Kisser, Cavalera Conspiracy, Igor Cavalera, Marc Rizzo, Max Cavalera, Sepultura.
With "Psychosis" CAVALERA CONSPIRACY are able to reanimate the intensity of the good old 80s thrash, black and death metal. This record is so powerful, that even the thought of hearing this wonder hurts. The brothers Cavalera have outlived all the crazy eras of metal and remain more stable and frightening than ever! "Psychosis" is terrific, in the truest sense of the word. You won't find any thrash metal on the planet that could boast more brutal. Bow your heads down amidst the brothers of the crowbar! Go Unlimited.
