Curious? "Please retry". This recording featured a then-unknown, clear-voiced Jose Alberto in his debut album as a vocalist. The album features an all-star chorus with Adalberto Santiago, Ruben Blades, and Yayo el Indio. Listening to the songs brings back fond memories from the fall of 1976 when I was a 19 year-old in college. Characteristics of this album: sharp arrangements, excellent vocals, catchy lyrics, danceable songs, large big-band type orchestra, a real tight sound. Pity that this, to my knowledge, was (formany years) the only album recorded by timbalero Tito Rodriguez Jr.
Biography: Tito Rodríguez, Jr is one of the leading Timbales artists in Tropical Music today. Tito’s signature sound is inspired by the traditional big bands of the past with a contemporary twist. Prodigiously gifted as an arranger, composer, producer and bandleader, Tito found his Latin music voice through the Timbales. Born in New York City, Tito was admitted to Berklee College of Music at the age of 19. His first album, Curious? for TR Records, a label owned by his father, the legendary Puerto Rican singer and bandleader, Tito Rodríguez, debuted in 1975. Tito’s discography includes Eclipse.

Pablo Rodríguez Lozada (January 4, 1923 – February 28, 1973), better known as Tito Rodríguez, was a Puerto Rican singer and bandleader. He started his career singing under the tutelage of his brother, Johnny Rodríguez. In the 1940s, both moved to New York, where Tito worked as a percussionist in several popular rhumba ensembles, before directing his own group to great success during the 1950s. His most prolific years coincided with the peak of the mambo and cha-cha-cha dance craze.
