Recording and playing with Johnnie Johnson has been one of the highlights of our musical journey. He was like your old uncle, laid-back and cool offstage, but when he sat down at the piano, he was in charge and anyone who ever played with him became a better musician. In 1994 and 1995, there were a lot of changes in store for the HeadHunters. On September 22, 2009, the Kentucky HeadHunters will release their first ever live album for the Mercury Records/UMe Authorized Bootleg series, recorded at the legendary Agora Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio. The record comes out just in time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pickin’ On Nashville. Stay tune. here’s more to come.
