Seven Davis Jr’s debut album for Ninja Tune is only a month away from dropping, and the gospel singer-turned-house DJ has unveiled a new track featuring Bristol’s own Julio Bashmore. Good Vibes’ spotlights SDJr’s suave vocals over a bed of choppy disco licks in the vein of vintage Daft Punk, and quelle surprise: it’s irresistibly danceable. From subaquatic acid jazz of opener 'Imagination', Seven navigates his way through the frenzied, intergalactic muzak of 'Freedom', the trip-hop and trumpets of 'Sunday Morning' and he's barely half way through the track listing. Good Vibes' could be the antidote to this affliction, as, true to its title, it offers three minutes of palpitating post-disco featuring Julio Bashmore.
