A generation older than their punk contemporaries, legendary Mick Green and his men make most of that breed sound like pretenders. Listen to All In It Together and you hear a great single. That said, the material on this collection is (for the most part) superb and shows the band at their absolute peak (1977-1979). In effect, what you get is the "Out Of Their Skulls" album and 39 bonus tracks which include the "Skull Wars" and "Happy Birthday Rock & Roll" sets. Admittedly, the material on the latter does tend to take a fairly big dip but still contains one or two gems. The playing throughout is first rate

The Pirates were a Hard hitting British Rock n Roll band, originally members of Johnny Kids backing group, the Pirates infectious fast paced sound lead by guitarist Mick Green, made them a firm favourite, with their style known as British pub rock. This album comprises of a studio side and a live side - great stuff . They released this album, 1 album recorded in the studio march 1977, album 2 recorded live april 1977. Long story short I discovered this around 1981, and purchased it on 8-track (then lp, then cd). If you've never heard this album I feel very sad for you. I cannot begin to describe this.
