1961 studio album by The Kingston Trio. The day after the completion of the Goin' Places recording sessions, the Trio embarked on their first foreign tour. After their return, Guard announced his intention to resign from the group. Guard stated in numerous interviews he left the Trio for two main reasons: He was upset with a discrepancy in publishing royalties and he felt the Trio needed to grow musically. The Trio's long-time bassist, David "Buck" Wheat is pictured with the group on the cover. The final live performances of the original trio were released in 2007 as Live at the Santa Monica Auditorium. Here We Go Again! Sold Out. String Along.

This is one part of a three-part album. Other Versions (1 of 1) View All. Cat.

It was also their only album to win a Grammy.

The Kingston Trio is the Kingston Trio's debut album, released in 1958 (see 1958 in music). It entered the album charts in late October 1958, where it resided for nearly four years, spending one week at in early 1959. It was awarded an RIAA gold album on January 19, 1961. Dave Guard, Nick Reynolds, and Bob Shane formed the Kingston Trio in Palo Alto, California in June 1957.

My parents listened to the Kingston Trio when I was a child. Not only does it bring back good memories, it is "gentle" folk music. When I want peaceful music I would pick Kingston Trio and Simon & Garfunkel. As has been stated, this not the debut album by the Kingston Trio, even though the name and album cover line up with the debut. It is a live performance done fairly recently. Many of the songs have up to a minute of rambling before the next song starts, which is always a problem with live albums in my mind. From The Hungry I (Live).
