The System is an American synthpop duo who debuted in the 1980s, consisting of vocalist/guitarist Mic Murphy and seasoned session keyboardist David Frank. Other significant tracks on the album include "It Takes 2", "Love Won't Wait for Lovin'", and "This is for You". In 1985, David Frank and Mic Murphy teamed up with Jeff Lorber to collaborate on Lorber's album Step by Step. The System's greatest success came in 1987 with the release of their single "Don't Disturb This Groove," from the album of the same name. The duo hired Steven Machat and Rick Smith to be its managers.

Released on November 26, 2002, Steal This Album! is the third studio album of System of a Down. It reached on the Billboard Top 200. The name Steal This Album was a nod to beating the establishment, and was derived from Abbie Hoffman’s counterculture textbook, Steal This Book. Apart from alluding to the fans who downloaded unreleased demo songs leaked online a year prior to the album’s release, the title also refers to recurring motifs throughout the album’s tracks related to Fuck the System

Steal This Album! is the third studio album by System of a Down, released on November 26, 2002, on American Recordings.

While Steal This Album! is not a legitimate follow up as such, there& no denying that this album will be shipped out by the truckload. While recording Toxicity, SOAD recorded some thirty plus tracks, leaving plenty left over for further development at a later date. Someone however, managed to get copies of some of the left over tracks onto the internet, making way for one sought after bootleg of unreleased tracks. Another couple of moments of pure genius worth mentioning are tracks such as I-E-A-I-A-I-O (One strange song, but certainly catchy), Pictures and the acoustic simplicity of Roulette (Featuring solely Daron Malakian on guitar and vocalist Serj Tankian).

This album has the first System of a Down songs I ever heard and become a fan of. Aerials got me hooked on this band. The other noteworthy songs on this album are Chop Suey! and Prison Song. Jump and Toxicity work for me too. Jump is a peculiar song that is frenzied to the point of being manic. It's weird enough that I am oddly entertained by it! The rest of the album is pretty good. System of a Down had gotten fairly popular with their debut album just a few years before, but this is what really solidified them as one of the top modern rock/metal bands. I remember getting this album a week or two before it was supposed to come out, thanks to a clueless dude working in the music section of a store putting the CDs out before release, and being blown away. I hadn't heard an album this good in a while, and it was easily my most listened to album for a good 2 year. nd I -loved- System's debut album.

This album will be a breath of fresh air to all of those who wants to break out of the norm. T-shirts going 15$ RerRock 5$ mixtape going.
