Based in Australia, Southern Empire were formed by Sean Timms following the dissolution of his previous band Unitopia. Their first album ‘SOUTHERN EMPIRE’ is released through GEP on 18 march 2016 and features a bonus DVD of footage of the album material. The band plan to tour internationally to support the album – dates to follow shortly

Southern Empire biography Founded in Adelaide, Australia in 2014. SOUTHERN EMPIRE was formed by Sean TIMMS after the breakup of the highly acclaimed (at ProgArchives) group, UNITOPIA. One might say that this aspect of this album is a commonly recurring feature rather than a red thread throughout though, as Southern Empire is about a lot more than this as well, and unlike the aforementioned possible influences the style here is actually a bit further removed from symphonic progressive rock as well.

Southern Empire Records is a Metalcore record label began in 2004 by David Anthem, the lead singer of NC hardcore band, Prayer For Cleansing and ex-Undying bassist and roadie, Jonathan Raine and Chris Gannon. The label released the re-recorded Prayer for Cleansing EP, "The Tragedy", in the summer of 2004 just in time for the band's finale show at Hellfest in Elizabeth, NJ. List of record labels.

Adelaide’s Southern Empire say Not so! as they drop the massive platter that is Civilisation. The four-track album clocks in at a mind-numbing seventy minutes, including songs reaching twenty minutes and thirty minutes. Less is more and the 42-Minute Rule are staples of AMG, but the Aussies wipe their feet on such banal concepts
