Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny (German: Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny) is a political-satirical opera composed by Kurt Weill to a German libretto by Bertolt Brecht. It was first performed on 9 March 1930 at the Neues Theater in Leipzig. Weill was asked by the 1927 Baden-Baden music festival committee to write a one act chamber opera for the festival.

Here, she is featured as Jenny Hill in a 1956 studio cast album of Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny (Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny), Weill's 1930 musical written with lyricist Bertolt Brecht. That allows her to sing the show's most famous number, "Alabama-Song. Although Mahagonny is presented in the original German, "Alabama-Song" was written and is sung in English.

Mahagonny Songspiel gets a highly effective and powerful performance. The Songspiel lacks drama and context. The Berliner Requiem gets a very sympathetic performance with good saxophone playing. The version of Happy End presented here lacks spoken text and some of the music. The performance of Happy End on the Cappriccio label is better
