Harold McKinney was one of Detroit's jazz legends as both an artist and as a cultural figure. His Voices and Rhythms of the Creative Profile was issued on the city's cooperative independent Tribe label - which also boasted outings from Marcus Belgrave, Doug Hammond, Mixed Bag, Wendell Harrison, and Phil Ranelin - in 1974. McKinney's approach to jazz in the 1970s may have been funky and electric, but it was also idiosyncratic and vocal. Harold and Gwen McKinney handle the lead vocals, while a backing chorus of seven helps out on other pieces

Talk about Harold McKinney - Voices & Rhythms Of The Creative Profile

Amarin
My personal copy of this sounds great, no obvious pressing defects. Recommended.
Mr_KiLLaURa
My copy sounds excellent as usual with Pure Pleasure, word
Dont_Wory
Sounds really good. More detailed and louder than Pure Pleasure's edition.
SkroN
Bit gutted about this - got it today and am only halfway through side 1 and it has skipped 5 times already! Have thoroughly cleaned it and still the same skips. I am hoping to get a replacement - hope this is just a one off! Very unusual as the Pallas pressing plant are generally regarded as one of the best today. Anyone else have the same problem?
Lynnak
Unfortunately mine has the same issues, opted for a refund instead of replacement but I'm guessing there are some good copies out there too. Just didn't wanna take the risk
Ranenast
The same with my copy. I ordered that previous itailian pressing and it plays smooth and sounds more detailed and louder.
Vobei
As I see, there are 2 limited reissies 250 units each with different workart and the same reference and description... Any other difference between both editions?Thank you!
Anarasida
Anyone have this and can comment on the pressing/sound quality?
Dianaghma
Very good sound, high quality reissue, and it is legit
Datrim
Two cover variations, same catalogue number, one has solid brown background on the front cover the other comes with white background, both include insert with lyrics
Uylo
I found a signed cover, without the record. McKinney wrote on the front (mine has a white background) between his name and the album's title: "Ronnie & Pops--Let me know what you think. Hal McK." It was free, from a Hamtramck, MI record store, and my name is Ron.
