Music Bank is a box set of a large variety of songs including unreleased demos, hit singles, and three new songs produced by Alice in Chains. It was released on October 26, 1999 on Columbia Records. The set consists of 48 songs, including rarities, previously unreleased demos and mixes by the band, and previously released and remastered material from their albums Facelift, Sap, Dirt, Jar of Flies, Alice in Chains and Unplugged and a CD-ROM containing various multimedia.

Alice in Chains uses a recurrent theme of substance abuse, as a negative identity to the ego ideal. They found the right chemistry and groove, on their second and third albums. Dirt sold about four million copies and their self titled album sold about two million copies. With so much disposable income, life turned into a huge party for some of the band members. Singer/songwriter Layne Staley soon became bound by the chains of addiction. He eventually died of an overdose in the year two thousand two. During the downtime, Cantrell put out a couple of solo albums, with mediocre success.

One of the best compilations of formerly released material ever made. A classic. I suppose there are problems concerning copyrights, but this should really come out on vinyl, especially regarding its equally fantastic follow-up 'Function Underground'. Please consider releasing this again.

This crackly, vinyl lifted rare release from Chicago label Memphix is a break digger's dream come true... Dante Carfagna has spared you hours of looking and listening through crumbly old vinyl and presents you with a stylised collection of obscure joints from what sounds like the 60's and 70's. "Stylised" in this case meaning the title tells all - Hell's Angel/bikers funk(-adelic) with a distinct garage flavour; acid-rock fuzzed up guitar and bass; adrenaline (amphetamine?) fuelled R'n'B with a large dose of blaxploitation for good measure! There are some real beauties on here, for listening or sampling... take ya choice. Puts me in mind of other biker themed releases such as 'Angel Dust - Music For Movie Bikers', presented by Savage Pencil. The cd's presentation has no info as to tracks/artists whatsoever apart from some partly obscured photographs of 7" labels, and the Iron Knowledge 'Showstopper' centre label in full view - lucky we have Discogs/internet to inform us otherwise you could possibly spend a whole lifetime digging just for the track listing! Expect to pay good money for the original which contains the previously mentioned Iron Knowledge track which has a badass break nestling in it's almost heavy metal heart. Like Parliament/Funkadelic? This s**t is definitely for you!
