Go Go Lorenzo puts a funky spin on this ’80s new wave classic. The Godfather of Go-Go does Queen Bey with vocalist Cherie Mitchell, so you know it’s going to tear the roof off. Bonus for the excellent horn arrangement. 3. Backyard Band, Hello (Adele). Turning Adele’s sad-sap power ballad into something of a danceable tune is quite the feat. 2. DJ Dyn-O-Might, Royals (Lorde).
Pepsi & Shirlie are an English pop duo group who released two albums, All Right Now in 1987 and Change in 1991. Their debut single "Heartache" reached No. 2 in the UK Singles Chart. Although most active in the 1980s, they continue to perform in the 2000s. The act comprised Helen "Pepsi" DeMacque (born 10 December 1958, Paddington, London) and Shirlie Holliman (born 18 April 1962, Watford, Hertfordshire), who had been Wham! backing vocalists.
While Cherry Red can go one way or the other with it's mastering, they've done an outstanding job here, with all the crystal clear late 80s sounds in place. Pepsi & Shirlie's sound is like a more R&B/pop Bananarama and also similar to Mel & Kim, with plenty of PWL/Stock Aitken Waterman hi-nrg thrown in for good measure. Pepsi & Shirlie's 'All Right Now' is another great 80's record! nice dance & mid-tempo grooves! featuring the singles 'Heartache' & 'Goodbye Stranger'. 2 people found this helpful.

I gave you the best, I gave you all and nothing less, Time waits for no one and I can't wait. Ooh, so look at me and answer why I can't be a part of your life? So tell me, darling, what are you putting me through? And if you can't give me love why do you keep me hanging on? Too afraid to love me, too afraid to go on. And if you can't give me love, well, I might as well be on my own. I've given all I've got to give, what do I have to do to make you stay? In the morning when I've gone You may realize that it takes two, you know that it's true
Pepsi & Shirlie - Heartache (Extended Remix 1987). Top Songs By Pepsi & Shirlie. 02. Heartache (Dot & Daisy's Club Remix). Life is so hard needlessly No fairy tales Tell me am I history? A broken heart if you say good-bye I never knew you could leave this way Forget about what I've been through If you should go what am I to do? Remember we met and the room was crowded And I can't forget the way that it started Giving it all Ready to fall in love And now you're giving me a heartache Fools game It's a shame shame It's a heartache and I feel the pain You'll find it hard leaving me No turning back once you walk
Never mind what I’ve been through If you should go what am I to do? from the album All Right No. The duo made their move at the very beginning of 1987, unleashing their debut single ‘Heartache’, and entering the UK charts quietly at number 50. Catchy, danceable, and sung with the passion you’d expect from two strong vocalists who had had enough of lurking in the background, ‘Heartache’ caught on with audiences as the weeks went by, and it eventually peaked at number two, behind - you couldn’t make it up - George Michael. The similarly fabulous ‘Goodbye Stranger’ gave Pepsi & Shirlie a second top ten hit, but long-term success was not to be - further singles and albums were commercial.
