Tompall & the Glaser Brothers was an American country music group composed of three brothers: Chuck Glaser (February 27, 1936 – June 10, 2019), Jim (December 16, 1937 – April 6, 2019), and Tompall Glaser (September 3, 1933 – August 13, 2013). Tompall Glaser was one of the leading lights of outlaw country, and before he struck out on a solo career, he made a name for himself with his brothers, who had several country hits in the early '70s. Though they rarely cracked the Top Ten - only "Rings" went into the upper reaches of the country charts - they made some of the best music of the era, turning out music that sounded country but had distinct elements of rock and pop and even post-Dylan.

About Tompall Glaser. Glaser is something of a forgotten visionary in Nashville's fickle, find 'em and forget 'em world. He and his brothers worked as a folk group, backing artists such as Johnny Cash and working on the fringes of fame in Nashville until they got a deal of their own and charted a couple of records in the mid-1960s. Tompall not only had a knack for writing his own hits, he also seemed to see ability in others.
