Switched-On Bach was recorded originally on a custom 8-track 1" (Ampex 300/351) tape machine, then mixed to stereo premasters using a two-track 1/4" Ampex. When Wendy Carlos released "Switched-On Bach" in 1968, she sent an electric shock through the music world.
