The Redshift is the fourth album from the Finnish melodic death metal band Omnium Gatherum. It is the band's second release for the Candlelight Records label. The album features a number of creative aspects not yet attempted by the band. A music video for the single 'Nail' was released in Autumn 2008. The Redshift is Omnium Gatherum's fourth full-length album, and it is also their second album since Jukka Pelkonen replaced Antti Filppu as the Finnish death metal band's lead vocalist. Released in 2007, Stuck Here on Snakes Way - the first Omnium Gatherum album that featured Pelkonen - had its melodic passages and used keyboards but was ultimately about brutality more than nuance or intricacy

Omnium Gatherum is a six-piece melodic death metal band from Finland, founded in the autumn of 1996. Although the band mainly follows the path of the melodic death metal genre, much of their work shows strong influences from progressive metal, especially their later albums.

Although not really bad, the drums and guitars are probably the only negative side the album has but they compensate for them with some great bass, vocal and keyboard work.
