The Rose Garden is the self-titled and only album from the American folk rock group of the same name. It was released in April 1968 on Atco Records and included their Top 20 hit "Next Plane to London". The band was heavily influenced by the Byrds' style of vocal harmony and 12-string guitar blending and the album includes two Gene Clark compositions, "Till Today" and "Long Time". The group also recorded "Rider", which was first recorded by the Byrds in 1966, but not yet released.
Rose Garden is a multi-million selling, RIAA Platinum-certified studio album by country singer Lynn Anderson. It was released in late 1970 as the title song was climbing country and pop music charts around the world. The single went on to top the Country charts, where it stayed at the number 1 position for five weeks. It reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart in early 1971 and hit number 1 in both Cash Box and Record World.

The band formed from an earlier group known as The Blokes which was founded in 1964 and had covered much of the Byrds work in its later years. By 1967, the group's full lineup was complete and they became known as The Rose Garden

The album Rose Garden continued to sell well for over a decade and later managed to receive an official platinum record as well for sales post-1976. The album Rose Garden hit the Billboard country album charts on December 26, 1970 and by the February 13th issue had climbed to on the chart where it would remain for 14 weeks, the longest run at the top of that chart for any country female vocalist until Shania Twain's The Woman in Me album in 1995, 25 years later. Rose Garden still ranks among the top 50 country albums of alltime in the history of the country album chart.
Текст песни: I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden Along with the sunshine There’s gonna be a little rain sometime. I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden Along with the sunshine There’s gonna be a little rain sometime. I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden Along with the sunshine There’s gonna be a little rain sometime When you take you gotta give So love and let live and let go I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden I could promise you things Like big diamond rings But you don’t find roses.
The Rose Garden's only album is a fair but unmemorable pop-folk-rock record, able in its emulation of the Byrds' 12-string guitar sound with some competent stirring male-female vocal blends. Indeed this contains some of the most blatant mimicry of Roger McGuinn's style that you'll find, without nearly as much of McGuinn's imagination.
