Living with the Law Chris Whitley. Brother runnin' powder money Daddy's somewhere on a drunk In the hours, after washing I do my dreaming with a gun. Well I come down from the country Find a lesson in the draw There ain't no secrets in the city It's hard living with the law. They got machines, mama I can't figure They got a romance made for doing time Send me out child, running outside Out along a world of crime. Gonna swing my scythe, got a hand upon the handle Gonna shade my children ways I understand Milk the trigger, kill the hunger Staring down this broken land

This was spring 1995 and Chris Whitley was preparing to release his second album, Din Of Ecstasy. Its predecessor, Living With The Law, emerged to great fanfare in 1991. A lush, modern blues confection, it was declared by Rolling Stone as Best Debut of that year, and Whitley was momentarily perceived to be the heir to Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, labelmates of his at Columbia Records. He toured with Dylan and another heartland American troubadour, Tom Petty, but didn’t attract a mainstream audience.

Hi. Please assist with submission. Should this be with general US release as different matrix...is in the master...is it a promo? Or is it a test printing. I am just learning submission techniques, am getting a much better grasp of guidelines...And I very much aim to be a quality submitter and hope to analyze and vote in the future. I very much understand and have mastery of vinyl but not CDs. Please let me know...I appreciate the education. Peace out and to all ...
