Willpower is the second studio album by the American band Today Is the Day, released on September 1994 by Amphetamine Reptile Records. The album was recorded just a few months after Steve Austin's father, whom he had not seen for months by this period of time, died in a violent car crash.

Exploring distrust, loyalty, death, passion, memory, and excess in the span of nine songs, this album certainly runs the emotional gamut. Changes in mood are echoed by sea changes in volume and dynamics, Austin's high-pitched scream yielding to a breathy, near-silent spoken whisper in the space of a few measures.

Tellingly, Today Is the Day's sophomore release was entitled Willpower and through pure force of will it brings the listener into its raw world of pure emotional power. With changing time signature and discordant guitar tones to classify the album's sound as a world is apt simply because TITD's blend of noisy metal, post-hardcore and spacey & indie rock (see Hum for a point of reference) is one you can actually feel the textures for an entirely sensual experience. Willpower" gives the listener a startling transition to the record in the first few seconds when.

Today Is the Day is an American noise rock, experimental metal band originally formed in Nashville, Tennessee (later relocated and currently based in Orland, Maine). The band's violent and diverse sound combines influences from areas such as noise music, avant-garde metal, grindcore, and alternative rock among other genres. Most of the band's recordings make extensive use of dissonance and sampling, as well as unusual production techniques and psychedelic overtones.

The band saw its beginnings take root in Nashville, Tennessee in the early 1990s when Today Is The Day released their debut EP, entitled How To Win Friends And Influence People, in 1992.
