Ashra concerts at the open air festival Burg Herzberg, Germany and in Nijmegen, Holland followed. Ashra's activities in 1998 were the releases of the 23th album Sauce Hollandaise, a recording from the concert in Nijmegen of the previous year, and the 24th album, a release of recordings from the first part of the Japan Tour. 2001 saw the release of two videos: "Ashra Live at the Open Air Festival Herzberg 1997" and "Die Mulde" by Manuel Göttsching from 1997.

Dynamo Open Air was a festival in the Netherlands held (almost) every year between 1986 and 2005. It was reborn in 2008 as Dynamo Outdoor and in 2015 as Dynamo Metal Fest. Originally held to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Dynamo rock club in Eindhoven, it grew from 5,000 people in the Dynamo parking lot up to 118,000 attendees in 1995.

Wacken Open Air (W:O:A) is an open-air heavy metal music festival. It takes place annually in summer in the village of Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany, 80 kilometres (50 mi) northwest of Hamburg. W:O:A is usually held at the beginning of August and lasts four days. The festival was first held in 1990 as a small event with about 800 visitors and six local German bands. It is currently considered the biggest heavy-metal festival in the world.
