Sedimentary rocks are formed from particles of sand, shells, skeletons and other fragments of material, that have settled at the bottom of a lake, sea or ocean. Gradually, the sediment accumulates in layers and due to is disposition, it hardens into rock over a long period of time.

This is the second part of Rommek s Set in Stone Trilogy for Blueprint and sees the emerging producer embrace a range of styles. Greywacke is a moody stepper, led by robust broken beats and a searing bass, while on Grintstone, he lays down a straighter techno arrangement, one that is swathed in atmospheric textures and led by pounding kicks. In contrast to these pieces, Arkose is more understated; revolving around break beats, the rhythm is stripped back and the synths that shine through are eerie and creepy. Part 2 of Rommeks Set in Stone Trilogy for Blueprint which takes things deeper than the previous Igneous, although still offering plenty of atmosphere and intensity.

Rommek continues his 'Set In Stone Trilogy' for James Ruskin's Blueprint with part two, 'Sedimentary'. Each release in the series represents one of the fundamental rock classifications and the track titles are those found within each class. As Rommek states: 'Rocks are usually categorised according to their texture, mineral or chemical content. I think this metaphorically relates to how we create music and even classify genres.

The second segment of Rommek’s Set in Stone series, Sedimentary, differs slightly from the previous in sound. The production seems fuller, with currents of dark energy bubbling up from beneath the surface on ‘Greywacke’, a track that propels itself forward with brief interludes of light samples and a constant surging bassline. Spacier, deeper and more contemplative production than the trilogy’s first contribution. Rommek keeps his concept alive by issuing rock classifications in place of song titles, a metaphor for the depth and tensity of the EP’s formation.

com/watch?v Kds0AbYK85o. Rommek debuts the Set In Stone trilogy of EPs on Blueprint with "Obsidian," which is atmospheric but heavy, with killer sound design to boot.

Blueprint bosse James Ruskin has gathered together an impressive cast-list of producers to rework tracks from Rommek's recent trilogy of EPs, Set In Stone. Ruskin is naturally one of these, and his creepy, atmospheric revision of "Grintstone" - all mangled metallic noise, slowly throbbing orchestration, distorted drums and booming bass - is undoubtedly one the EP's highlights.
