DAEVID ALLEN is a Canterbury Scene, Progressive Rock artist from Australia. He handed out teddy bears to the police and recited poetry in pidgin French, and now admits that he was scorned by the other protesters for being a beatnik. Fleeing the police, he made his way to Deya, Majorca, with his partner Gilli Smyth.

If anybody could be said to have defined the spirit of globalist, free-thinking hippiedom, it was Daevid Allen, who has died of cancer aged 7. and Allen’s solo album Banana Moon following in 1971. In 1973 Gong signed to Virgin, after BYG went bankrupt while Gong were recording at Virgin’s Manor studios. He recorded the solo albums Good Morning (1976), Now Is the Happiest Time of Your Life (1977) and N’Existe Pas!

Second pressing released during the 80's with blue striped labels, which differs slightly from the almost identical first Charly edition Daevid Allen - N'Existe Pas! dated 1979 which has Side 1 label with a black & white photo of Daevid Allen and band members around a microphone and Side 2 a red colour label with track listings for each side.
