Nightmarathons melds varying punk, post punk, and first-wave emo influences to create their own unique take on melodic punk rock music. Their debut self-titled EP, out May 5th on A-F Records and Between the Days records, is an echo of nostalgia, conjuring up that old feeling that you felt back in 2001 in that elks lodge right before those first chords rang out and changed your life forever.

Nightmarathons’ new album Missing Parts encapsulates this. Missing Parts starts with hi-hat and open notes before landing in the crunchy build up of power chords. It sounds pleasing and all familiar at the same time. Waiting Room carries through, but it’s second song Comeback where the album begins to reveal itself.

Nightmarathons is a new-ish band out of Pittsburgh, PA, having formed in the winter months of 2016. Yet listening to the band’s debut album ‘Missing Parts,’ you don’t really get the idea you are listening to a band still figuring things out. These guys have got their shit together and crank out punk rock anthem after punk rock anthem.
