The Voice (Bobby McFerrin album). The Voice is an album by vocalist Bobby McFerrin that was released in 1984. This was the first album by a jazz singer to be recorded without accompaniment or overdubbing. When McFerrin's album was released in 1984, it was exceptional for several reasons.

The Voice is a solo album by Bobby McFerrin, featuring his peculiar style of vocal improvisation. In contrast with his previous Elektra album, here the vocalist is unaccompanied by other musicians, and no instruments are used on the album Contents. All songs are written and composed by Bobby McFerrin, except where indicated.

Bobby McFerrin is the debut album by Bobby McFerrin, released in 1982. All songs written by Bobby McFerrin except where noted. The Voice (Turkish: Ses) is a 2010 Turkish horror film, directed by Ümit Ünal, about a young woman who begins to hear a strange voice whispering to her. The film opened on nationwide general release across Turkey on March 5, 2010 (2010-03-05).

Robert Keith McFerrin Jr. (born March 11, 1950) is an American jazz vocalist and conductor.

Sometime in 1983 Bobby McFerrin gave his first solo voice concert in Ashland Oregon. In March of the following year he had a tour of Germany stopping in concert and opera halls. This was the springboard which propelled him to world renown as a solo singer of unprecedented virtuosity. The Voice is the CD made of tracks from that tour. The vocalist's 1984 solo album has proven in many ways to be the blueprint for the iconoclastic career to come. Following his more mainstream debut, 1982's Bobby McFerrin, The Voice is a daring idea: an unaccompanied, live solo vocal album.
