Electronic/rap duo group inou have been active in the Japanese scene for more than ten years now, and have earned a decent reputation for their interesting sounds and lyrics. Their recognition in the West is generally limited to only this song, mostly because of the video that accompanies it, which is one of those things you laugh at at first but then you watch it again and it actually ends up really sad and really relatable. I’m a huge fan of group inou, and I love this song and video a lot. It’s also unfortunately VERY hard to find any translations of their songs, so although I’m not totally fluent, I wanted to give it a try. I worked really hard on this and I hope I managed to capture the meaning. I feel like I could listen to this album everyday.
