With their fourth album, All the Right Reasons, Nickelback ditch any pretense of being a grunge band and finally acknowledge they're a straight-up heavy rock band. Not that they've left the angst of grunge behind: they're a modern rock band living in a post-grunge world, so there are lots of tortured emotions threaded throughout the 11 songs here

All the Right Reasons is the fifth full-length studio album by Canadian rock band Nickelback, released on October 4, 2005 via Roadrunner Records. The album became Nickelback’s first and only album to reach the top of the Billboard 200 chart. A total of seven singles were released from the album: Photograph, Animals, Far Away, Savin' Me, Rockstar, If Everyone Cared, and Side of a Bullet

This album is dedicated to the memory of Dimebag Darrell and Jan Heyne. Billy F. Gibbons appears courtesy of RCA Records. Mixed at Warehouse Studios, Vancouver, . and Shabby Road, Studio City, CA (Tracks 3 & 6) Recorded at Mountainview Studios, Abbotsford, . Mastered at Sterling Sound, NYC.

All the Right Reasons is the fifth studio album by Canadian rock band Nickelback, released on October 4, 2005. It is the band's first album with former 3 Doors Down drummer Daniel Adair, who replaced Ryan Vikedal in January 2005. The album topped the Canadian Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200 albums chart and has sold 12 million copies worldwide

The photo-shoot for "All the Right Reasons" shows the band in their usual poses but in a rural area in the band's hometown. It's truly a sickening sight looking at Nickelback's photo-shoots. It's an important detail to mention when discussing this album. This album has the usual 11 tracks, like most of their discography.

Talk about Nickelback - All The Right Reasons

Rivik
Following on from the success of 2001’s ‘Silver Side Up’ and 2003’s ‘The Long Road’, it’s now 2005, and Nickelback are unarguably one of the biggest bands on the planet. Appealing to rock and (some) metal fans, while also endearing themselves to pop fans and casual radio listeners, the band were at a point where they’d been able to establish a sound, as well as a name and reputation, that would keep them in the spotlight. However, while I found their albums to continually improve with each subsequent release, 2005’s ‘All the Right Reasons’ doesn’t quite live up to its predecessor. But there’s really not any particular reason, other than the songs just don’t seem as good. The sound is the same, the production is the same, sure, there’s probably a bit more emphasis on soft radio rock here, but it’s still not that different than what the Canadian foursome did on ‘The Long Road’. But overall, the songs just aren’t as good. Which is kind of weird, seeing as how this album features some of Nickelback’s biggest hits (outside of 2001’s ‘How You Remind Me’), ‘Photograph’ and ‘Rock Star’, both of which were huge radio hits for the band. There’s also some great rockers such as ‘Animal’, ‘Next Contestant’, ‘Someone That You’re With’ and the emotional and thoughtful ‘If Everyone Cared’. But yet, there’s just something about this release that doesn’t resonate with me as much as what came before it. But don’t be deterred, as it’s still a good album! The performances from everyone involved are of a high standard, and the band clearly knows what works for them and how to get the most out of it. By 2005 Nickelback would be known more for their hits than their albums, and as it stands, this probably won’t appeal to everyone. And while I don’t think it’s as good as 2003’s ‘The Long Road’, ‘All the Right Reasons’ is still a solid, hard rock release with some good songs that definitely won’t be amiss in any collections.

Hello, does anybody know if this album was ever released on vinyl? Dark Horse and Here and now are, and are easy to find new. I'd really like to have this one on vinyl as well :)

The Nickelback sound has evolved dramatically over the past decade, from indie rock (with it's 'I hate the world' attitude) to rock pop. The previous 2 albums had a series of great songs, but as whole albums they lacked melodicness, and consistency, and were in some cases downright boring to listen to. "All The Right Reasons" however is different. It maintains some of the harder sounds we know and love from the band, but adds more depth into their songs by experimenting with accoustic sounds and ballads, which allows the album to take you on a journey with the song writer, rather than leaving you thinking the world is against you. The melodic nature of this album is more appealing, and will get new listeners in. It also shows how Kroeger as a person has matured, writing about things that affect us all. This approach makes the listener relate more to the songs. This is by far, my favourite out of all 5 albums, and gets a listen almost once a week. There is never a dull moment in this.

It's okay to have different opinions but don't call the guy an idiot just for liking music you don't.
Steel balls
You're an idiot. This is the worst band in history.
