Miguel Llobet Solés (18 October 1878 – 22 February 1938) was a classical guitarist, born in Barcelona, Spain). Llobet was a renowned virtuoso who toured Europe and America extensively. He made well known arrangements of Catalan folk songs for the solo guitar, made famous arrangements for the guitar of the piano compositions of Isaac Albéniz, arrangements immortalized by Andrés Segovia, and was also the composer of original works.

Born into an artistic family, Miguel Llobet Soles (Barcelona, 1878-1938) moved in the company of such musical artists as Debussy, Ravel, and FaurT, and traveled with Richard Strauss, Granados, and de Falla.

During his time, Miguel Llobet was better known for his virtuosity on the guitar than for his compositions. He was instrumental in establishing the classical guitar on the international concert scene; hitherto, it had typically been regarded as a novelty to audiences. Llobet pioneered the way for g. .

One of the earliest guitar sound recordings was from 1861, before Edison invented the phonograph. It is believed that it was recorded in the western saloon Two Bulls in Kansas. The phonograph type invented by Thomas Edison was on 18 July 1877. Spanish guitarist and composer Miguel Llobet (1878–1938) made recordings between 1925 and 1929. Garoto (Aníbal Augusto Sardinha) made recordings in the 1950s. Luigi Mozzani (1869–1943) recorded three 78 rpm discs with much of his music. Andrés Segovia (1893–1987) made his earliest recordings in 1927. Heitor Villa-Lobos (1887–1959) privately made recordings between mid-1920s and the early 1940s, including important performances of two of his guitar works
