ndia is the fourth studio album by Brazilian singer Gal Costa, released on 1973 by Philips Records. Its major hits were "Índia", "Volta" and "Desafinado". ndia is an MPB album, with influences from tropicália, folk, psychedelic, jazz, funk and rock. The artwork depicts Gal Costa semi-nude with indigenous Brazilian vests. It was originally censored by the Brazilian military government, but the full artwork was released by Costa in 2015.

Gal Costa was born on September 26, 1945 on Barra, one of the most traditional neighbourhoods of Salvador, to Mariah Costa Penna (d. 1993) and Arnaldo Burgos (d. 1960). During her pregnancy, Mariah spent hours concentrated listening to classical music, as in a ritual, with the intention that her child would become interested in music. The music in the album has been considered unprecedented. It represent a strong departure from the style of Domingo, her debut album recorded with Caetano Veloso, which featured a "set. of airy, somewhat standard bossa nova tunes".
