The Story of Little Black Sambo is a children's book written and illustrated by Scottish author Helen Bannerman, and published by Grant Richards in October 1899 as one in a series of small-format books called The Dumpy Books for Children. The story was a children's favourite for more than half a century

It is entitled "Little Black Sambo's Jungle Band. It is Set Y-303 by Paul Wing, Narrator with Orchestra and Sound Effects. It is entitled "Little Black Sambo's Jungle Band". The records are each individually placed in the original Bluebird sleeves, all of which slips into the colorful paper container with cartoon pictures on the front. The records proceed from Beginning through completion of the story on the 6 sides. The records are in excellent to E+ condition, looks almost brand new and are from new old stock. No wear and scuffs and scratches are very few, light and surface variety.

They love to hear it again and again; to read it to themselves; to act it out in their play. This is the updated and more PC version of Little Black Sambo, which I also had to read for my class. I loved the illustrations in this version and I really don't think Bannerman was attempting to be as blatantly racist as it seems, but now after our class discussion, that's all I can think about. Unfortunately on his adventures he meets some problems and so the book shows the reader the cleverness of little Sambo as he gets out of each scrape. There are no big words and the writing is very simple yet enjoyable.
