Anthropomorphic symbolism appeared from around the first century CE with the arts of Mathura the Greco-Buddhist art of Gandhara, and were combined with the previous symbols. Various symbolic innovations were later introduced, especially through.

Padmasambhava (Sk., or Padmakara (Skt. Padmākara; Tib. པདྨཱ་ཀ་ར་, པདྨ་འབྱུང་གནས་, Pemajungné; Wyl. pad+ma 'byung gnas, in Sanskrit transliteration པདྨ་སམྦྷ་ཝ་) means ‘Lotus-born’, which refers to Guru Rinpoche's birth from a lotus in the land of Oddiyana. Guru Rinpoche, the ‘Precious Master’, is the founder of Tibetan Buddhism and the Buddha of our time

Simple things like hand positions and the shape of the arms can convey symbolic meaning. Western viewers often have a hard time making sense of it all because they have little exposure to the symbols. Each color and stripes has its own meanings. Scenes from the life of the historical Buddha, Shakyamuni, are a popular subject in Buddhist art. According to tradition, Siddhartha ("he who achieves his goal"), the founder of Buddhism, was born a prince of the Shakya clan in 563 . in what is now southern Nepal. Confined by his father to the palace grounds so that he would not become exposed to anything that might deter him from becoming the next ruler, Siddhartha first visited the outside world at the age of twenty-nine.

Where was Buddha born? The time and place of Buddha's birth are uncertain. 20th century historians believe that the place of birth could have been Lumbini, Nepal. Buddha means the Fully Enlightened One. He became the Buddha through the realisation of the intrinsic, true nature of all things in the universe, including existence, mind & body, life. He came up with the Four Noble Truths ( i think it was called).

Dipamkara Buddha, the Buddha of the previous age prior to the time of Shakyamuni, the historical Buddha. Dipamkara Buddha, Nepal, 1700–1799. Ground mineral pigment on cotton. In the Lotus Sutra, for instance, the Buddha himself calls his own historical authenticity into question. This coup de théâtre takes place in a text with wide-ranging influence across East Asia. During a sermon, the Buddha declares to his disciples that he has already guided numerous beings toward salvation.

The Buddha, born as a Hindu, is also said to be a descendant of Vedic (Hindu) Sage Angirasa in many Buddhist texts. Siddhartha/Buddha was Kshatriya caste prince of the Sakya clan. According to Hindu scripture Ramayana the area was well mentioned as Mithila or Janakpuri where Mata Sita was born. So most probably the Buddha story was just adapted from Mahaveer story which is similar. And the British scholars simply tried to impost buddism upon indians to destroy the Hindu identity. Even today you look at some of Mahaveer old statues look exactly like Buddhas. The indian scholar to convert Bonpas made up this story of Buddha to convince them Buddha of Buddhism was a descendant of Tongpa Shenrab The founder of Bon Pa. Guess what his story is exactly the Same as Buddhas.

The Buddha, the founder of the great religious philosophy of Buddhism, lived in North India over two thousand and five hundred years ago and was known as Siddhattha (Siddhartha one whose purpose has been achieved). Gotama (Sanskrit Gautama) was his family name. His queen was Mahamaya, a princess of the Koliyas. Hida Budhe jate Sakyamuni', 'Here was born the Buddha, the sage of the Sakyans'. The mighty column is still to be seen. The pillar, 'as crisp as the day it was cut', had been struck by lightning even when Hiuen Tsiang, the Chinese pilgrim, saw it towards the middle of the seventh century after Christ. The discovery and identification of the Lumbini park in I896 is attributed to the renowned archaeologist, General Cunningham.

Here was born the Buddha, the sage of the Sàkyans. The Four Noble Truths are the priceless mess-age that the Buddha gave to suffering humanity for their guidance, to help them to be rid of the bon-dage of dukkha, and to attain the absolute happiness, that absolute reality-Nibbàna. These truths are not his creation. He only re-discovered their existence. Others may lend us a helping hand by guidance and instruction and in other ways, but the highest freedom is attained only through self-realization and self-awakening to truth and not through prayers and petitions to a Supreme Being, human or divine.
