IN MOURNING was signed to Aftermath Music and released their full-length debut "Shrouded Divine" in 2008. While comparable in sound and style to fellow countrymen OPETH,IN MOURNING is in no way an imitator and proves it is still possible to write progressive and melodic death metal with originality and essence. HIGHLY recommended to all fans of this sub-genre! IN MOURNING Videos (YouTube and more). In Mourning - A Vow To Conquer The Ocean (7 min 25 sec ). Added by M3g52.

The second track, A Vow to Conquer The Queen, is driven in mainly one direction, but it goes straight up that path without hesitating: it’s completely condensed into heaviness and technicality, without not being unique sounding.

Swedish Progressive Death Metal.

The mourning dove (Zenaida macroura) is a member of the dove family, Columbidae. The bird is also known as the American mourning dove or the rain dove, and erroneously as the turtle dove, and was once known as the Carolina pigeon or Carolina turtledove. It is one of the most abundant and widespread of all North American birds. It is also a leading gamebird, with more than 20 million birds (up to 70 million in some years) shot annually in the . both for sport and for meat.

The American Dream, the band’s third album, shows an entirely different side of Trophy Eyes in multiple ways. Where 2016’s Chemical Miracle first showed the band departing from their original punk sound, The American Dream goes even further, adopting a softer sound than ever as first illustrated on non-album single ‘'Hurt’'. Songwriter and vocalist John Floreani also explores new subjects on this album

The American Dream-that hard work can lead one from rags to riches-has been a core facet of American identity since its inception. Settlers came west to America from Europe seeking wealth and freedom. The pioneers headed west for the same reason. He sees wealth as the solution to his problems, pursues money via shady schemes, and reinvents himself so much that he becomes hollow, disconnected from his past. Yet Gatsby's corrupt dream of wealth is motivated by an incorruptible love for Daisy. Gatsby's failure does not prove the folly of the American Dream-rather it proves the folly of short-cutting that dream by allowing corruption and materialism to prevail over hard work, integrity, and real love.

The 'American dream' has always been an idea of failure. By 1933, Adams was writing in the New York Times of the way the American dream had been hijacked: "Throughout our history, the pure gold of this vision has been heavily alloyed with the dross of materialistic aims.

American people are known for letting their emotions out and say quite quickly and easily to others that they love them which is fine. A lot of British meanwhile were brought up with the stiff upper lip. You do not show your emotions in public. Red Sky in Mourning is often cited in the survival literature. Tami Oldham Ashcraft tells her own story of sailing from Tahiti to San Diego and capsizing in a hurricane. Her boyfriend is lost at sea and she awakes alone after being unconscious for 27 hours. She has the sailboat, a good amount of fresh water, canned food and other provisions, so more than many survivors. The boat talk is technical but in an interesting way, not over the top. Tami is an amazing woman, I have so much respect for her adventurous spirit. Tempted to jump on the next ferry to Friday Harbor just to seek her out and shake her hand.
