The Montreux Jazz Festival (formerly Festival de Jazz Montreux and Festival International de Jazz Montreux) is a music festival in Switzerland, held annually in early July in Montreux on the Lake Geneva shoreline. It is the second largest annual jazz festival in the world after Canada's Montreal International Jazz Festival. The Montreux Jazz Festival was founded in 1967 by Claude Nobs, Géo Voumard and René Langel with considerable help from Ahmet and Nesuhi Ertegün of Atlantic Records.

Live At The Montreaux, Detroit Jazz Festival, 1983. A Lifetime In Oriental Jazz (Lp).

Cadence Jazz Records 2008. I love jazz because it& the speechless voice of the sound of the African American. I was first exposed to jazz as a child growing up in NYC and listening to the jazz radio (WLIB with Billy Taylor). I met Max, Roy, Art, Philly, Elvin, Mingus, Scoby, Louis, Cal, Billy, Sam, Betty & Red. The best show I ever attended was. Art Blakey at the Top of the Gate. The first jazz record I bought was Art Blakey & the Jazz Messenger with Bobby Timmons playing Moanin. My advice to new listeners: the healing power of jazz recordings is on vinyl!

Tracklist: 1. Disco Tease (Live) ( 8:03) 2. If I Were A Bell (Live) ( 6:28) 3. Serenata (Live) ( 8:53) 4. When Did You Leave Heaven (Live) ( 5:31) 5. The Breeze And I (Live) ( 9:44) 6. Medley (Live) (10:34) 7. Ain't That Good News (Live) ( 6:46). Several years later Woodard rallied with a new trio featuring guitarist Rob Tye and King to keep playing his new music as well as standards, and he was often featured at the Montreux-Detroit Jazz Festival, his 1996 performance issued on CD. Live at . s Lounge and 74/93 Live: At Last!! were released on independent labels.
