Visit Venus is a German duo comprised of producer "Super Mario" von Hacht and hip-hop DJ Mario Cullmann. The pair's lush, jazzy electronica is the German answer to the loungey beat science of such outfits as Thievery Corporation and Nightmares on Wax. Their debut album, Music for Space Tourism, Vol. 1, hit Europe in late 1995 and since its . release in 1996, has become a chill-out DJ classic. They followed up soon after with the four-song EP Magic Fly Variations, which expanded their sound universe, adding more dub effects and jungle rhythms to their downtempo repertoire.

Talk about Visit Venus - Music For Space Tourism Vol. 1

The Sinners from Mitar
So I'm listening to One Passenger Lost and it's about 80% a sample from a track from Brand X's 1977 album Morrocan Roll. It's the latter part of the song "Why Should I Lend You Mine (When You've Broken Yours Off Already)". Was one of their fathers a member of Brand X? Cos' I really liked those first two Brand X albums. Fun fact: The drummer in Brand X was... Phil Collins!!It's a very nice reworking of that track.

Music For Space Tourism Vol. 1 is one of the highlights of the Yo-Mama label from Hamburg. I heard thousands of records in my life, and that is a question of time if is possible for me to hear a full record twice or more. But this LP/CD takes my time more times every year since i know it and have in my collection. And everytime it culminates in a firework of strong emotions. Funky like down tempo beats and 70es atmosphears, nice organs and vibes, chilly experience in a delicate mood. A reccomended record! Enjoy!

This is a fun little album with some history attached. Apparently, the fathers of the two composers here were actually composers themselves who were comissioned to make some music for a commercial spaceflight in the 60s or 70s. So these guys took some samples from the original pieces and reworked them into some modern downtempo grooves. The tunes are cool and make for good lounge music.
