Official Bio Osmond Collins was born in Jamaica, West Indies and immigrated to the United States as a young teen. It wasn't long before his love for music took him to a place of discovery. Marge Grudzinski, a music teacher in his high school, recognized his gifts and fostered his talents.

The Osmonds are an American family music group who reached the height of their fame in the early-1970s. The group consists of siblings who are all members of the Osmond family, a family of musicians from Ogden, Utah, who have been in the public eye since the 1960s. The Osmond Brothers began as a barbershop quartet consisting of brothers Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay Osmond. They were later joined by younger siblings Donny and Jimmy, both of whom enjoyed success as solo artists as well

Collins wouldn't launch a solo career until more than a decade after joining Genesis, and about five years after he succeeded Peter Gabriel as he group's frontman. At first, his solo albums functioned as a form of release – both creatively and personally. Collins began work on Face Value, his debut, during a period of personal struggle with his marriage.
