3 Feet High and Rising is the debut studio album by American hip hop group De La Soul, released on March 3, 1989 by Tommy Boy Records. It marked the first of three full-length collaborations with producer Prince Paul, which would become the critical and commercial peak of both parties. The album title comes from the Johnny Cash song "Five Feet High and Rising". The album contains the singles "Me Myself and I", "The Magic Number", "Buddy", and "Eye Know".

The Morning of Our Lives never appeared on a studio album, getting its release on the 1978 Modern Lovers Live set, and also coming out as a single (these, I'm pretty sure, were the recordings that also yielded the live tracks on the Roadrunner compilation). In other hands – or in Richman's in another mood – it could have been unbearably gloopy and saccharine sweet, but somehow he manages to keep it just about under control.
