It was written and produced by Jackson and Ian Sherwin, with additional writing from Ben Langmaid. The song premiered on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show on 27 May 2014, and was released as the album's lead single the following day. La Roux performed the track on Good Morning America on 11 June 2014.
