The Project - A Day Without flac album

Life in a Day is the debut album by Simple Minds, released in April 1979 by record label Zoom. It reached number 30 in the UK Albums Chart. The title track and "Chelsea Girl" were issued as singles. Life in a Day spent six weeks in the UK LP charts and reaching number 30. The title track was released on 12 May as Simple Minds' first single and reached No. 62 in the UK charts, spending two weeks there.

During the short period of 12 days, without any distractions, my sole focus was on serving the needs of the community there. Let's see how typically a day in the life of a project manager looks like. A good project manager is found dealing with chaos, communication, decision making. I need to re-work the project schedule. The album's intro track: The Fall has a very math rock sound with very melodic vocals that don't quite sound at their best but their ok and manages to keep the music going pretty well. Inquisition on the other hand has a very explosive intro with a sort of melancholic atmosphere. In this song you can listen to growls that sound terrible, due to the lack of quality in the album, but the clean vocals sound good. I would have say that this is the best track of the album and in fact it is the longest song of this EP lasting only 5 minutes.

A Day Without Me was the first single released from the Boy album, U2’s fourth single overall, and the second single for Island Records in the UK. It was released on black 7-inch vinyl in both Ireland and the UK in advance of the album. The release of A Day Without Me also played a key role in breaking the band in the US, when DJ Carter Alan, upon hearing it in a record store in Boston, MA, started playing it on his show on WBCN radio. It was one of the earliest plays of U2 on American radio, and WBCN would continue to push U2 on future releases. The single was also important because it marked U2’s first collaboration with Steve Lillywhite, who would go on to produce the band’s first three albums and who continues to work with the band to this day.
