Excellent album, great depth in lyrics, musicianship and concept. Needless to say, most of it is meant to make you dance! What a concept, dance music with substance.

A Fantasy Love Affair includes that, along with seven other high-quality jams. His innate musicianship and genre-bending style-which melds funk, soul, disco, rock, oldies, and proto-electro styles-is showcased on stellar tracks like "The Singer's Become a Dancer," "It's True What They Say About Love," and the dreamy "For Your Love. He'd release three more albums between 1979 and 1984, though none matched the commercial success of his first. A musician and producer from outside of Chicago, Peter Brown debuted in 1977 with the single "Do Ya Wanna Get Funky with M. Released at the height of the disco craze on the powerhouse label TK Records, it was an immediate sensation and soon became the first gold-certified 12-inch single ever. A Fantasy Love Affair includes that, along with seven other high-quality jams.

Album: A Fantasy Love Affair. A A. A Fantasy Love Affair. Tired of living this fantasy love affair. You tell me you love, then you tell me goodbye. You play my emotions and you make me cry. All this confusion is making me spin. I was lost in devotion and unable to see. That the lies in your love songs made a fool of me. So I'm through with believing. You will never be true. So tell me you love me and then tell me goodbye. Cause the chain has been broken.

A Fantasy Love Affair. Thanks to "Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me," a million-selling crossover disco single that lit up the black singles, club play, and pop singles charts, Peter Brown's debut album for TK Disco offshoot Drive, A Fantasy Love Affair, also placed high, reaching number six on the black albums chart. Though "Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me" and "Dance With Me" are clearly intended for clubs, the remainder of the album also shows flashes of a less-cynical Steely Dan in songs like "A Fantasy Love Affair" and "It's True What They Say About Love.
