The Bamboos 2007 second album Rawville, marked a stylistic move towards more vocal-based material and featured vocalists Kylie Auldist (Aust), Tyra Hammond (NZ), Fallon Williams (US/Aust) and hip hop artist Ohmega Watts (US). Of the five instrumentals (which included the popular live staple 'The Witch'), one was recorded at Quantic's Brighton studio in 2006 ('Tongan Steel') live to analogue tape. Upon release 'Rawville' was described by UK-based IDJ Magazine as "arguably the best funk album of the modern era"

Rawville is is the second album from The Bamboos and sets them up for legendary status! More song based than Step It Up this album features vocals from Alice Russell, Falon Williams, Tyra Hammond and Ohmega Watts. They fuse more sounds and styles coming with traditional instrumental heavy hitters, hip hop funk party joints and soulful reflections. The horns are fatter and more layered and the breaks as crisp as an iceberg!!

Sophomore album from the Australian band who have received critical acclaim across the board from Jazz, Funk and Hip Hop enthusiasts. The Aussie Funk six piece are big Funk collectors and inspired by artists such as The Meters, Mickey & the Soul Generation, Jimmy Smith and Reuben Wilson but have a contemporary Deep Funk sound too. Rawville still embraces the deep raw organ based Funk aesthetic of their debut album Step It Up, but it also embraces different flavors. The album is half vocal based tunes and half instrumental.
