Heart of Mine" is a song by Bob Dylan that appeared on his 1981 album Shot of Love. Recorded on May 15, 1981, it was released as a single, and reached No. 8 in Norway. I bought this album because I like Bob Dylan, and because I like to have christmas albums from different artists. So how is it, this new christmas album of mine? It is probably what you can expect from an artist like Bob Dylan. It's slightly odd,funny,and very enjoyable. It seems to me that Mr. Dylan has taken a liking to musical influences from the forties lately. Just listen to the background singers. Many people thought that Bob Dylan's album Christmas in the Heart must have been some kind of sick holiday joke back in 2009, but I think it has held up well in the years since. This is one of the more offbeat, but finest holiday albums released in the past 20 to 25 years. And as the years (and Christmases) go by, it seems more and more that this is the Christmas seed from which all of Dylan's recent "great American songbook" albums have sprung from.
